Rest Is Not a Reward
On unlearning the belief that you have to earn your own softness, and what changes when you stop.
Somewhere along the way, a lot of us picked up the idea that rest is something you earn. Finish the list, then you can sit down. Hit the goal, then you can breathe.
But rest isn't a reward for productivity. It's the soil productivity grows out of. When you treat it as optional, your nervous system stops believing safety is available — and everything gets harder.
This week, try resting before you've earned it. Notice what comes up. That discomfort is the belief you're unlearning.
